George Washington Day Public Open House and Tour
Enjoy a free public tour of select WHS properties at the annual George Washington Day celebration, commemorating the General’s visit to Warwick in 1782. Visit the Shingle House complex, 7-9 Forester Avenue, and talk with local historians as they share stories of the people and circumstances which helped shape this wonderful Town. Greenwood Lake was roaring in the 1920s. with its train service to New York City, steamboat ferries, and grand hotels, Greenwood Lake offered an escape for many families and the well-to-do. greenwood Lake offered a lakeside retreat for any sport celebrities, artists, Vaudeville actors, writers, and many more.
