Warwick, NY — The Warwick Historical Society invites the community to step back in time and explore the powerful role railroads played in shaping the region with the next installment of our IN CONVERSATION WITH series with Town of Warwick Deputy Historian Alan Held. This event will be held on Sunday, May 31st from 2:00pm-4:00pm at The A.W. Buckbee Events Center (2 Colonial Ave.) Warwick, N.Y.
This engaging and richly illustrated program will trace the 28 miles of railroad lines that once connected Warwick’s villages and hamlets, offering a fascinating look at how these routes fueled local growth, commerce, and industry. Through historic maps, rare photographs, and compelling then-and-now comparisons, attendees will experience the evolution of Warwick’s rail infrastructure and the stories behind it.
From lines still in operation today to branches abandoned more than a century ago, this presentation brings to life the trains, stations, and communities that defined an era of transformation in Warwick’s history.
Following a previous standing-room-only turnout, this event is expected to fill quickly, and advance registration is required. Admission is free for WHS members in good standing and $5 for non-members (cash at the door) but all must register on the calendar page of whsny.org.
