How did the women of Warwick contribute to the Revolutionary cause?
What were their lives like?
Please join us to explore the many ways in which “the ladies” helped during the war and suffered its hardships, and demonstrations of military life by Hathorn’s Minutemen and the 5th NY Regiment.
Our volunteers and historical organizations will be on-site outdoors with hands-on activities and demonstrations from 4-6 PM at the Gen. John Hathorn house historic site for this free family-friendly event, thanks to the generosity of owners of The Old Stone House Inn.

A Revolution of Her Own!™ Deborah Sampson”
Join Judith Kalaora of History At Play ™, LLC for a living history performance chronicling the life of Deborah Sampson; the first woman to enlist, fight, and be honorably discharged from the American Military during the Revolutionary War. Sponsored by the Albert Wisner Public Library.
Pre-Event celebration: DEDICATION OF THE PATRIOT MEMORIAL WALK OF HONOR AT 3 PM followed by “toasts & libations”.

What’s the buzz about beekeeping? Find out at the last Hands-on-History workshop of the season, the Buzz on Beekeeping on Wed., June 7 at 7 p.m. at the A.W. Buckbee Center, 2 Colonial Ave. Featuring Ryan Muehlbauer of Little York Apiary, everyone is invited to attend an educational presentation on the care and management of colonies of honeybees, nature’s often misunderstood pollinators. Ryan will discuss how to begin your journey into beekeeping, and talk about the life and times of a honeybee living in Warwick, NY. Hands-on-History is a Free adult and family-friendly workshop series. Presented in partnership with the Village of Warwick, The Buzz on Beekeeping will be an interesting evening, taking a look at the centuries old practice. Reservations are recommended, walk-ins permitted as space allows.

General Hathorn’s Sword Will Visit Home
On Saturday, October 28 from 4:30 to 5:30, a rare opportunity to see Gen. John Hathorn’s sword is offered to the public at the Old Stone House Inn & Hathorn historic site at 21 Hathorn Rd. In Warwick. The current owner, a collector of Revolutionary artifacts from Massachusetts , has graciously invited all to come and see this extraordinary fine and significant artifact of our nation’s fight for independence. He would like to find a way to bring the sword to a new owner or museum closer to its home. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of Hathorn historical society and generously hosted by The Old Stone House Inn.
