
Lots of fun things happening in Pine Island this summer. Drowned Lands Historical Society will host a free, family friendly event in Pine Island Park this Thursday July 15th from 6:00 until dusk to showcase fossils, artifacts etc lead by a team of experts, historians, and geologists. You will be able to purchase merchandise from our website for a limited time that will be specially made for our Chamber. Stay tuned for details about the art installation coming to Pine Island Park. Pine Island Taphouse will be having their grand opening this Saturday July 17th at 12:00. Please join us on Friday, August 27th at Noon for a Honor Ceremony and Garden Dedication in the name of PFC Benjamin Valenti.
PFC Benjamin Valenti , Army WWII Veteran and Purple Heart recipient was born May 11th, 1917 in Bronx, NY. He was drafted into the US Army on January 15th, 1941 and served with the 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division during WWII.
Ben’s Garden is a symbol of what makes our country great. We must never forget the courage of the men and women in uniform serving today and those who have served in the past.
The ceremony will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Park in the Village of Warwick, NY on August 27th, 2021 at 12pm
