What’s the buzz about beekeeping? Find out at the last Hands-on-History workshop of the season, the Buzz on Beekeeping on Wed., June 7 at 7 p.m. at the A.W. Buckbee Center, 2 Colonial Ave. Featuring Ryan Muehlbauer of Little York Apiary, everyone is invited to attend an educational presentation on the care and management of colonies of honeybees, nature’s often misunderstood pollinators. Ryan will discuss how to begin your journey into beekeeping, and talk about the life and times of a honeybee living in Warwick, NY. Hands-on-History is a Free adult and family-friendly workshop series. Presented in partnership with the Village of Warwick, The Buzz on Beekeeping will be an interesting evening, taking a look at the centuries old practice. Reservations are recommended, walk-ins permitted as space allows.
The event will be held on Saturday June 10 at 5 p.m., giving a few lucky contestants and supporters of the upcoming Greenwood Lake Centennial a chance to win prize money.
There are three winner levels: First prize takes home $1,500; second prize, $500; and third prize, $250.
The “drop zone” will be located in Winstanley Park, the field adjacent on CVS on Windermere Avenue, across from the Chase Bank. While the winner need not be present, a large audience is expected to attend as it’s the day of the Annual Village Street Fair and the beginning the Lakeside Farmers Market season.
Join us at Mountain Creek Resort this 4th of July for the Vernon Community Fireworks. Enjoy a relaxing evening on the Great Lawn outside of the Red Tail Lodge to enjoy a bite to eat at the Biergarten or any of our other satellite stations, live music, petting zoo, a variety of bounce houses, giant games including cornhole, ladder ball and giant pong. Enjoy a Sky Ride on The Cabriolet or a ride on the Alpine Mountain Coaster until 8pm both included in admission. Bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs to get comfortable and make it an evening to remember.

Join local historian Alan Held for a ride through Warwick’s railroading history and discover the 28 miles of railroads that once served the town of Warwick, its villages, and hamlets. The presentation will take place on Friday, March 8, at 7 p.m. in the A.W. Buckbee Center, located on 2 Colonial Ave. in Warwick.
Featured in the presentation will be then-and-now comparisons, maps, and rare images of Warwick that will show the importance that railroads had to the industrial development of the region. From existing trackage to little-known branches abandoned more than a century ago, the presentation will explore the track, stations, locomotives, and the stories of the half dozen railroads that built our community.
This program is free to the public courtesy of the Warwick Historical Society (WHS). Anyone with an affinity in history is welcome to attend. Raise a Glass to History at Tavern Night 2025 at Baird’s TavernWarwick, NY – The Warwick Historical Society, in partnership with Baird’s Tavern, invites the community to step back in time for an evening of history, camaraderie, and great food at Tavern Night 2025. This highly anticipated annual event will take place on Thursday, March 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Baird’s Tavern, one of Warwick’s most iconic and historic landmarks. Guests will enjoy a lively evening filled with specialty pub fare, beer or wine, and classic tavern games in the very space where George Washington once raised a glass and where Martha Washington spent the night. As a special highlight, docents will be on hand on the tavern’s second floor and attic, typically closed to the public, sharing captivating facts of the tavern’s incredible past, including its colonial visitors, Revolutionary War intrigue, and even chilling ghostly encounters. Tickets include pub-style food, beer or wine, and access to the historic second floor and attic. Admission is $45 for Warwick Historical Society members and $55 for non-members. Tickets will be available at the door, but advance purchase is recommended and can be purchased online via the calendar page at www.warwickhistory.org. The annual Onion Festival will take place this year on Sunday, August. 31, at the beautiful PLAV pavilion in Pine Island.
Eighteen-time Grammy winner Jimmy Sturr & His Orchestra along with the Annual Onion Eating Contest, sponsored by the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce. Everyone always enjoyes this contest, plus the winner receives a cash prize award. Get there early and enjoy the wonderful food. Doors open at 12 noon.
The Festival is held rain or shine plus there’s plenty of FREE parking. Music starts at 2PM. Jimmy and the band started playing the Original Onion Festival back in 1964. They ahve played every festival since. Advance tickets are on sale. The festival always draws a huge crowd so get there early and bring your lawn chair.

35th annual Warwick Applefest: More than 200 craft vendors, dozens of food vendors, nonprofit exhibitors, live music and entertainment, children’s carnival, farmers market, village shopping and an apple pie baking contest. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking available outside the village with shuttles to/from the festival. Held throughout the village of Warwick along South Street, Main Street, Railroad Avenue and Stanley Deming Park.

This booklet contains schedules of Applefest events, transportation information, directories for craft/food vendors, wineries, u-pick apples, a user-friendly map of the festival area, ads for local businesses, and more.
