Men’s Retreat @ Sacred Heart

Fr. Glenn Sudano CFR will be the Retreat Master for a men’s retreat which will be conducted on the weekend of January 13th-15th, 2023, at the Sacred Heart Center in Newton, NJ. The Salesian Sisters offer immaculate single rooms with a bathroom. The cost is $230, but, thanks to the generosity of some of our parishioners, scholarships are available. Each year during Advent, churches take part in a “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” which is a service of scripture readings or “lessons” recounting salvation history from the fall of humanity, to the promise of the Messiah, and to the birth of the baby Jesus. As a response to each lesson, the choirs and congregation join in songs and “carols” echoing the message proclaimed in scripture. This is a wonderful way to enter into the Advent season and have great joy for the celebration of Christ’s birth.

St. Stephen’s Church will have its Lessons and Carols service on Sunday, December 3rd at 3pm.

Rehearsals for this service of prayer, scripture, and song will formally begin on Wednesday, November 8th from 7-9PM in the Church. The list of subsequent rehearsal dates are below. Please consider sharing your gift of song with our parish during this most special season!
