You can be a part of our community’s tribute to the heroes in our lives – past and present. This is your opportunity to honor your personal hero. It could be a member of the military, police, fire, or other first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day. - The flags will be displayed in front of Chateau Hathorn, located at the intersection of County Route 1 and NYS Route 94, Sunday, August 22nd through Sunday, September 19th, 2021. Please join us on Friday, August 27th at Noon for a Honor Ceremony and Garden Dedication in the name of PFC Benjamin Valenti.
PFC Benjamin Valenti , Army WWII Veteran and Purple Heart recipient was born May 11th, 1917 in Bronx, NY. He was drafted into the US Army on January 15th, 1941 and served with the 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division during WWII.
Ben’s Garden is a symbol of what makes our country great. We must never forget the courage of the men and women in uniform serving today and those who have served in the past.
The ceremony will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Park in the Village of Warwick, NY on August 27th, 2021 at 12pm

Join the WHS’s Cemetery Preservation Crew and help clear debris and restore order to the many private cemeteries located throughout the Town of Warwick. Oftentimes, these smaller cemeteries are lost to overgrowth and forgotten. In just a few hours, this volunteer crew helps salvage the graves of some of Warwick’s past residents. It could be a member of the military, police, fire, or other first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day. It could be a teacher, coach, mentor, community leader, parent, child, or anyone who has been a hero in your life. By popular demand, we have added a week – the flags will be flown for four weeks this year!
- The flags will be displayed in front of Chateau Hathorn, located at the intersection of County Route 1 and NYS Route 94, Sunday, August 22nd through Sunday, September 19th, 2021. You can be a part of our community’s tribute to the heroes in our lives – past and present. This is your opportunity to honor your personal hero. It could be a member of the military, police, fire, or other first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day. It could be a teacher, coach, mentor, community leader, parent, child, or anyone who has been a hero in your life. By popular demand, we have added a week – the flags will be flown for four weeks this year!
- The flags will be displayed in front of Chateau Hathorn, located at the intersection of County Route 1 and NYS Route 94, Sunday, August 22nd through Sunday, September 19th, 2021. This form can be given to any Warwick Valley Rotary Club member or mailed to: The Warwick Valley Rotary Club c/o Flags for Heroes, PO Box 121, Warwick NY 10990 along with your $50 check made payable to: Warwick Valley Rotary Club.
- You can also pay with a credit card at warwickvalleyrotary.org. If you pay with a credit card, please also submit this form so we know the name of your hero; please email forms or questions to Laura.Barca@hdrinc.com.
- To ensure heroes and sponsors are correctly identified, please honor only one hero per form (one payment may be written to accompany multiple forms).
- Please return forms by August 15, 2021.
- Some of the organizations that the Warwick Valley Rotary Club supports are: Local Food Pantries, Back Pack Snack Attack, Honor Flight, Meals on Wheels, Dictionary Project (local 4th graders receive a dictionary), College Scholarships, Youth Fishing Day (Warwick Rod and Gun Club), Winslow Therapeutic Center, Inspire (Cerebral Palsy), Warwick Humane Society, Rotoplast, Beautiful People, Garden of the Children, Warwick Senior BBQ.
