| DANNY BATISTA SCHOLARSHIP FUND |

The Teen Mass of April 26, 2009 was dedicated in Memory of Helen Egan and of Daniel Battista, who died one year ago on that date, at the age of 20. Danny was an active member of the St. Stephen’s Parish Community; as a student, athlete, musician, altar server and part of the Administrative Staff. His passion was playing his trumpet.
To honor the memory of this special young man, a Music Scholarship has been established. It will be administered through the St. Stephen-St. Edward Educational Trust. Tax Deductible donations can be made to the Trust, “In Memory of Danny Battista” and are gratefully appreciated.

Details are as follows:
- Any current member of St. Stephens Parish; from elementary through high school grades, who wants to, or currently plays the trumpet, can participate.
-One Recipient and one Alternate will be chosen, to be published on this page and in the St. Stephen Parish Bulletin.
-The award will be a reimbursement of up to $100 per month, for the duration of the school year, September ’09 – June ’10. To be used for lessons, equipment, rentals.

To Participate:
-Find the memorial plaque and the tree that has been planted in his name, on the grounds of our Parish.
-Write a 1- 3 page handwritten essay about yourself, why you want to play the trumpet and what it means to you to win this award.
