An experienced chef
Chef Proprietor Paul Karas and his wife Cheryl are natural restaurateurs. They recognize good food and beverages and really make you feel at home. Paul has worked as executive chef for more than 20 years at the Warwick Inn; as chef for a gourmet firm in northern NJ that caterred corporate and private jets, with celebrity clientele such as Hulk Hogan, Stevie Nicks, Ted Turner, and Billy Joel; and as chef at two San Francisco area restaurants. As a result, the Pioneer menu reflects this broad background.
Incomparable dining experience
Its casual atmosphere easily accomodates families and kids, but the menu is extensive, ranging from casual sandwiches to superb entrées. Although they won the "Best Burger in Town" bragging rights, they also feature slow-roasted Black Angus prime ribs (Friday and Saturday nights) and delicious homemade soups (potato leek, onion, minestrone, chowders, and seasonal selections of pumpkin and gaspacho).
