Change Food

The Change Food Viewing Party Fest “Growing the Good Food Movement” will take place in New York City on November 12 and 13, 2016. At the Albert Wisner Library in Warwick NY, however, you can join our FREE viewing party – a simulcast of the live event happening in the city. We will explore and celebrate change happening in the food system. Rather than simply talk about problems, we will actively look at solutions that are leading us to the sustainable food system we wish to see. Our focus will be on both real and visionary solutions. And we will celebrate food.

Change Food is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting and collaborating with those who produce and care about food in order to transform the environment in which our food is grown and help improve the way we eat.

We have started selecting speakers for The Change Food Fest and have included previews below so you can get to know them a bit before they take the stage.  We will also be doing a Q&A with each one to learn more about their work and what they’ll be talking about.

Speakers will be announced on a rolling basis, so please check back often as we add more people to the program.

There is a groundswell of energy and support for sustainable food, but many people don’t know what to do with their new-found knowledge and enthusiasm for educating others.  There is also growing interest in teaching about the food system, both in schools and at community-based organizations engaged in food education.  Such efforts are sorely needed if we are to change the way Americans eat.  In the words of Chef Ann Cooper, author, advocate and director of food services at Boulder Valley School District, “It’s not fair to expect children to switch from cookies to kale without telling them why it’s important.”

Change Food is host of the Change Food Video Library – a video resource for anyone anywhere who wants to watch or show educational videos about issues with food and farming.  It is an excellent classroom resource, as well as a resource for anyone who would like to host their own event in their local community – from a lunch time get together to an all day extravaganza.  Additionally, instead of more traditional book clubs, many people today are opting for video clubs.
